iConverter is a free tool by iFinanx Accounting ("iFinanx", "we") that converts bank statement PDFs into Excel and CSV files. Bank statements contain sensitive information, so the service is built to keep as little as possible, for as short a time as possible.
What happens to your files
- Kept in memory only. Your PDFs and photos are held in the server's working memory while they are read. They are never written to disk and never saved in a database.
- Deleted straight after reading. As soon as the pages have been read, the files are discarded.
- Results handed over once. The extracted transactions, and small pictures of each page for the side-by-side view, are sent to your browser and then deleted from our server. If you never collect them, they are deleted automatically after 10 minutes.
- Downloads made on request. When you click Download, your browser sends the rows (with any corrections you made) and we build the Excel or CSV file and send it back. It is not stored.
- No copies, no backups. Because nothing is stored, there is nothing to back up, share or recover later.
What we never do
- We do not use your statements or their contents to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.
- We do not sell, share or look at your statements.
- We do not write your file name, its contents or the extracted figures into our logs.
What is processed and how
Text is read from digital PDFs directly. Scans and photos are read with open-source OCR software (Tesseract) running on our own server; no third-party AI or OCR service receives your files. All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Fonts and scripts are served from this site, not from third parties.
Other information
- No account, name or email is needed, and the tool does not set tracking or advertising cookies.
- To prevent abuse, the number of conversions from each internet address is counted for one hour, in memory only. If automated abuse becomes a problem we may add Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-friendly "I am human" check, which then receives basic technical data from your browser for that check only.
- We keep simple daily totals (how many files and pages were converted, how long it took). These are numbers only: no file names, contents or amounts.
- Our hosting provider keeps standard technical access logs (such as time and address of requests), which do not contain your file.
